Kate Knight will present a new body of work showcased within the studio in which it's created.

MA (distinction) Fine Art, City and Guilds of London Art School, 2021 BA (Hons) Fine Art, Chelsea School of Art and Design, 2005 Historically, craft and tradition have played a vital role in establishing the feminine psyche, and it is these motifs that inspire and traverse my practice. A strong focus is placed upon catharsis and wishing, whilst physical acts engage with animating the inanimate, and transforming that which cannot be altered in our reality. Perfuming the spirit of the work, is a magical aesthetic, something witchy and other. However, grounding the experience are gestures that physically bring us back down to earth, with a bite that revels in an animalistic rebellion of powdered plumes and subversive form.

These reverent and sacrilegious acts rub up against one another, in humming vibration; in a bid to enchant the disenchanted.  Most notably Knight’s work was selected for Delta Gamma curated by Zavier Ellis, Saatchi Gallery, London 2022, and ‘Carry on the Baggage’, Lisbon 2022, curated by Ben Austin, as well as, ‘Figurine’, Liverpool 2023, curated by Luke Skiffington. Previously Knight was selected for Artist of the Day, at Flowers Central, Cork Street by Dr. Mo Throp, London, and was the runner up for the Marmite Prize for Painting 2010. She was also selected by Rebecca Wilson for ‘Burning Bright’ Emerging Artists from Saatchi Online, 2012, Hyatt, London. In 2020 Knight was selected for The ING Discerning Eye by Tabish Khan.
