What if connecting creatives led to more sustainable futures?

Open Art Folke, in partnership with Creative Folkestone, invite all Folkestone creatives to join us at this special edition of Connecting Creatives.

Part idea exchange, part laboratory, and part provocation, this is an event to connect, wonder and (re)imagine. It is a space of shared questions.

How do we deepen our shared understanding of the challenges being faced across the creative and cultural landscape – and explore the opportunities available to us?

Through a series of short talks, some ‘provocateurs’ will share their thoughts on the current state of play, shedding light on challenges shared across the UK and inviting us to consider the direction we want (and need) to travel in, individually and together.

Who is doing what, and where, that we can learn from?

We’ll also be bringing in creatives who are already practising new ways of working with and supporting artists in community. These special guests will join us to provide different perspectives and share their learnings on sustaining creative communities across the country.

Where do we begin?

There will be facilitated conversations to explore what creatives in Folkestone feel they need to develop and sustain their practices here and scope to start exploring potential pathways forward.

Will there be drinks and snacks, and will the bar be open after? Yes, absolutely!
